Vezelay vineyards

Appellation village since 2017

The presence of vines in Vézelay dates back to Gallo–Roman times. At its peak, in the eighteenth century, vineyards covered over 1000 acres of land. But the phylloxera disease of 1884 almost wiped out all the vines. By the end of the 1960’s, barely 5 acres of vineyards remained

Relaunched in 1973 by a dozen volunteer winegrowers, Vézelay vines have been improving ever since. Thanks to the work and passion of the winegrowers, there is now around 250 acres being cultivated. And their passion is such that it will not stop here!

Vezelay vineyard was awarded the Appellation Village in 2017. It has all the makings of a great wine!
