We offer you different walks to do on foot, by bike or on horseback, more or less long but always for the pleasure of the eyes! Walk

Le Chemin Bleu

The educational trail “Le Chemin Bleu” in Avallon was created to raise awareness of wildlife conservation whilst bringing together our natural and historical heritage.  The Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan invites you on this 2.4km round trip to better understand the aquatic life of the Cousin valley.

Fontenay-Vézelay

Whether you start from the Basilica in Vézelay or from the Cistercian Abbey in Fontenay, this hike of approximately 84 km has it all.  Along paths that are not particularly challenging, you will discover our heritage and some incredible views  : Terre-Plaine landscapes with the Morvan hills in the background or the panoramic view of Vézelay before reaching Asquins.  This hike can done on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike, and will not fail to enthrall you.

Are you in search of hiking heaven?  Well you’ve come to the right place. Whether for a short hike, a day’s hike, or even several days worth of trails, you can choose the level of difficulty and your starting point.  Just come to one of our local information offices where you will find sixteen different trails that are clearly indicated along the way and have been tried and tested, and to top it all you can buy them as individual route maps!

GR 13

From Avallon or Vézelay the GR13 (Grand Randonnée) goes right through the Morvan mountain range from North to South via the lakes and forest of the Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan.

Fancy a ride with your family or friends, whether you prefer a gentle bike ride or are a mountain bike enthusiast, come and discover our cycling paths and trails.  There’s something for everyone!

The GTMC – La Grande Traversée du Massif Central

1380 km of trails and paths dedicated to mountain bike enthusiasts.  On your own, with family or friends, come and discover the hills and lakes of the Morvan, the incredible landscape carved out by the volcanoes of Auvergne, and ride through the Parc National des Cévennes, over the Grands Causses plateaus.  Your journey will end with a dip in the blue waters of the mediterranean!

Cycling routes and veloroute

Burgundy has over 1000 km of secure and signposted paths.  Tow paths along canals,  disused railway lines or minor roads through the vineyards.  In the Morvan you can cycle along the Canal du Nivernais. If you’d like the itinerary, click on the link below

Fishing, along the riverside

Beginners, amateurs or dedicated anglers, you’re sure to find your perfect spot.  Lakes, reservoirs, rivers, we’ve got them all!  All types of fishing is available, plus shops to buy your fishing permit and much more besides!

– Le Griottier Blanc à Quarré les Tombes (1st category – private land), solely for fly fishing.
