Stone from the Aubigny quarry has been used for hundreds of years to build the Paris opera, town hall, national conservatory, catherdrals in Auxerre and Sens to name but a few. The blocs that were removed have left the most impressive caverns which still bear the marks of the wedges and chisels which were used for centuries.

Visits: from 30 March to 3 November. In April, May, June, September and October, open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 12 pm and 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm. From 1 July to 31 August, open Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 6.30 pm. Sundays and public holidays, 2.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Group visits: all year round, by prior arrangement. Stone-cutting workshops by prior arrangement (open every day except Mondays, Sundays and public holidays).
